Lughnasadh, the ancient Celtic festival of harvest and abundance, is one we all celebrate in Scotland, even if unknowingly. Also named Lammas (loaf-mass) in Anglo-Saxon Christian tradition – celebrating the first-baked loaves of bread from the grain harvest – the sentiment is similar. Sharing food and laughter, gratitude for the earth’s abundance and acknowledging the infinite cycle of life, death and rebirth.
