The Luckenbooth brooch has a history rooted in the heart of Edinburgh. Traditionally featuring two intertwined hearts beneath a crown, the design became associated with love and devotion.

The name “Luckenbooth” comes from the small shops, or “luckenbooths”, that once stood along Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. These stalls were known for selling jewellery and other goods, and these heart-shaped brooches became popular tokens of affection.

Over time, the Luckenbooth evolved into one of Scotland’s most recognisable pieces of traditional jewellery. Today, it remains a cherished symbol of Scottish love and heritage. A small piece of Edinburgh history that can be passed from one generation to the next.
