Celtic Moon Earrings (pair)
£28.00
Our wee business started life as “Celtic Moon” as the proprietors’ name, “Chandra”, means “moon as God” in the ancient Sanskrit language and being Scottish born and bred this was a perfect merging.
Unique and dainty they are a fantastic example of classic Sterling Silver Celtic knot work, weaving in a crescent moon in both directions (Waxing and Waning) – as a left and right earring. Reminding us further of the cycles of nature, womanhood, fertility, growth , life, death and re-birth.
The moon is central to many belief systems around the world and has been for millennia. The Celts had several Moon Goddesses – Cerridwen, Arianrhod, Rhiannon (AKA Rigantona) amongst them – all worthy of your research time!
• Sold as a PAIR
• A high quality, unique product
• Ethically traded sterling silver
• Gift boxed
• Ships direct from Edinburgh, Scotland
• Supports a small artisan business
The ancient Celts viewed life as an eternal journey, believing in continual reincarnation until spiritual fulfilment was achieved. Elaborate interlacing of one single line, with no beginning and no end, forms the knot work believed to represent the Celts fundamental belief in spiritual eternity.
“There was never, and never will be, a time when we did not or do not exist in some form”
